Title (original)
Study on logistics and infrastructure required for Derelict Fishing Gear (DFG) treatment
Description
The logistics study is an external investigation providing recommendations on the infrastructure required to allow for Derelict Fishing Gear (DFG) and end-of-life fishing gear to enter the existing waste management system. The study also incorporates an economic analysis of the expected costs for regular waste management of both retrieved and discarded, end-of-life fishing gear (economic viability). The logistics recommendations were compiled by Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT in Oberhausen, Germany, and served as input to the DFG treatment scheme.
